Rules & Sponsor Terms

The battle should be easy to join and sponsorship should be easy to understand. These rules explain how votes are counted, what a sponsor buys, and what happens before and after a paid placement.

Effective 2026-08-22-1 · Version 2026-08-22-1

Voting is free

One valid vote per browser for the current battle. No purchase and no prize.

30-day placement

A paid sponsor spot runs for 30 days from activation. It does not renew automatically.

No performance promise

You buy the placement, not a guaranteed number of views, clicks, votes, or sales.

1. Battle rules

  1. The current question and choices are shown on the battle page. A visitor chooses one side. Voting is free and a sponsor purchase never gives extra voting power.
  2. One valid vote per browser for the current battle. Wipe uses strictly necessary functional cookies to enforce and show this, plus a deliberately generous per-network safety cap to stop unbounded automated writes. Shared networks can therefore reach the cap together. Bypassing these limits, automated voting, vote buying, or interfering with the service is not allowed.
  3. The displayed timer is leading. Battles normally run for 48 hours and close at 22:00 in the Europe/Amsterdam time zone. That is usually 16:00 in New York and 13:00 in Los Angeles. The next fight starts as soon as the current one is wiped. Votes received after closure do not count toward the closed battle.
  4. The side with the most valid votes wins. The other side is wiped from the result. If the valid count is tied, both sides remain.
  5. Counts may update live. Wipe may remove or disregard clearly invalid, duplicated, automated, or manipulated activity to protect the battle.
  6. There is no prize, account, or paid entry. The battle is entertainment. Wipe may pause, postpone, correct, or cancel a battle when abuse, a security incident, or a material technical failure makes a fair result unreliable.

3. Sponsor content

The sponsor remains responsible for its submitted content and destination website. The sponsor confirms that the information is accurate, that it has all required intellectual-property and advertising rights, and that publication does not infringe anyone else's rights.

The sponsor grants Wipe and Fivo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize, and display the submitted brand materials only as needed to provide and promote the purchased placement.

The required logo upload must be a valid PNG, JPEG, or WebP image of no more than 5 MB before browser optimisation. Wipe normally resizes it to at most 256 by 256 pixels, converts it to a compact WebP, and accepts no more than 256 KB for storage. Wipe may further validate, cache, resize, or reject the file for safe and efficient delivery.

Wipe may reject, pause, or remove content that is illegal, misleading, infringing, hateful, discriminatory, pornographic, sexually explicit, unsafe, malicious, or likely to harm visitors or Wipe. The same applies to prohibited or improperly licensed tobacco, nicotine, drugs, weapons, gambling, financial, crypto, political, or regulated-health advertising.

When a problem can safely be corrected, Wipe may first ask the sponsor for replacement content. Urgent, unlawful, deceptive, harmful, or pornographic content can be removed immediately. Removal for the sponsor's breach does not entitle the sponsor to a refund.

4. Payment & refunds

Payment is handled by Mollie through its hosted checkout. The sponsor is responsible for accurate order and contact information and, when buying as a business, accurate billing and tax information. A business buyer confirms that they are authorised to bind the named organisation. Banks or payment providers may separately charge for currency conversion.

A consumer does not need to provide business or invoice details. When a buyer identifies the order as a business purchase, Wipe creates a draft sales invoice from the submitted legal business name, registration or VAT number, address, country, and email. After Mollie confirms payment, Mollie marks the invoice paid and emails its PDF to the buyer. Wipe also automatically sends a copy of that PDF and the payment reference to Fivo's administration. The business buyer expressly agrees at checkout to electronic invoicing.

A contract is formed when payment succeeds under the terms version accepted at checkout and Wipe can provide the selected placement. If two buyers pay for the same spot before availability updates, Wipe will offer the later buyer an available equivalent spot or refund the sponsor fee.

The service begins as soon as the placement is activated. At checkout, every buyer asks Wipe to start immediately. A consumer has a statutory 14-day withdrawal period from the date of the contract. If the consumer withdraws after service has started, Wipe ends the placement and refunds the amount paid minus the proportionate price for the days already provided. To withdraw, email danny@fivo.cc within 14 days with an unequivocal statement that you withdraw, your name, order email, and Mollie payment reference. You may use the wording: “I withdraw from my Wipe sponsor placement.”

For business purchases, or after a consumer's withdrawal period has ended, a change of mind, disappointing traffic, or failure to use the placement does not create a refund right. Removal under section 3 for the sponsor's breach, including pornographic or sexually explicit content, also does not create a refund right.

If Wipe cannot provide the placement for a reason not caused by the sponsor, Wipe may offer a reasonable replacement or extension. If that does not solve the issue, the sponsor is entitled to a proportionate refund for the part not provided.

5. Availability & liability

Wipe provides the purchased placement with reasonable care but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a fixed layout on every device, exclusivity, search ranking, or any minimum number of impressions, clicks, votes, leads, or sales.

To the extent permitted by law, Wipe and Fivo are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, lost revenue, loss of data, reputational harm, or third-party claims arising from the sponsor's content or website. Aggregate liability for a sponsor placement is limited to the amount paid for that affected placement. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Neither party is responsible for delay caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control. The affected party will take reasonable steps to limit the impact.

6. Privacy

Public sponsor data. The accepted brand or name, optional short line, uploaded logo, website, tile number, and active-until date are intentionally published for the placement term. The logo is delivered from Wipe's own domain, not from a sponsor-controlled image host. Unclaimed tiles show only the available placement.

Order and invoice data. Wipe processes the order email, submitted sponsor details, accepted terms version, payment reference, price, and timestamps to prepare and perform the sponsor contract, provide support, prevent duplicate or fraudulent orders, and send an optional renewal invitation. For business purchases, Wipe additionally processes the legal business name, registration and VAT details, billing address, and invoice references to issue the requested invoice and meet legal and accounting duties. Mollie processes payments and business sales invoices under its own privacy information. Cloudflare processes outbound invoice-copy and renewal emails for Wipe.

Battle data. Wipe uses two strictly necessary cookies for at most seven days: the HttpOnly wipe_voter cookie contains a random browser identifier used to enforce one vote, while wipe_vote contains the current battle ID and selected side for the interface. Wipe does not use localStorage, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking for voting. A salted, one-way network fingerprint is stored with the pseudonymous vote record for the current battle to enforce the network safety cap and preserve result integrity; Wipe does not store the raw IP address in that record. Wipe does not use this data for behavioural advertising. Hosting and security providers, including Cloudflare, may process limited technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service.

Audience measurement. Wipe measures anonymous first-party sessions, allowlisted page and interaction events, clean URL paths without query strings, timestamps, broad browser, device and operating-system categories, interface language, and only the hostname of an external referrer. A random analytics session ID is held in sessionStorage and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity; it is separate from the voting cookies. Wipe does not send a raw IP address, full referrer URL, name, or email as analytics data. Aggregate measurements are shown on the sponsor page. Privacy-safe events are also processed in Danno Platform for the operational live feed, journeys, and notifications.

Battle suggestions. A submitted statement, optional explanation, optional name and email, submission time, and notification status are stored so Fivo can review the idea and reply when contact details were supplied. Danno Platform sends the operator notification email. A salted one-way network fingerprint is used only for the hourly abuse limit; the raw IP address is not stored with the suggestion.

Anonymous analytics events and sessions are kept for up to 90 days. Battle suggestions are normally kept for up to one year. Uncompleted checkout intent data and its uploaded logo are normally kept for up to 30 days. A paid logo is kept long enough to serve the placement and then expires from logo storage. Public display ends with the placement term. Paid contract and payment records, and business invoice and accounting records where applicable, are normally retained for the legally required administration period and may therefore be kept for seven years. Security and vote-integrity records may be kept where reasonably necessary. Data is not sold.

For access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or another privacy question, email danny@fivo.cc. A request may be limited where the law requires continued retention.

7. Operator, changes & contact

Wipe is operated by Fivo (Danny Jansen), Hoogeveen, Drenthe, the Netherlands. Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 86730827. VAT ID: NL004301221B38. Contact: danny@fivo.cc.

Dutch law applies. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law says otherwise. Please contact Fivo first so a complaint can be handled directly.

Wipe may update these rules for future battles, orders, and renewals. A material sponsor-term update does not retroactively reduce an already-paid placement. The version accepted during checkout continues to govern that order.
